Unlatched, a dual-profile dating app that emphasizes emotional intelligence (EQ), seeks to enhance its platform by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in a manner that is both ethical and innovative. The goal of this project is to design a strategy that aligns with Unlatched's unique value proposition while improving user experience and maintaining technological feasibility. Main Project Goals Assess Business Needs – Analyze Unlatched’s product vision and growth strategy to identify high-impact opportunities for AI integration. Design AI Adoption Strategies – Develop actionable recommendations that balance innovation with feasibility across customer engagement, marketing personalization, process automation, data analytics, and user safety. Prototype & Demonstrate Use Cases – Create conceptual prototypes or mockups for AI features like Check Yourself , Read the Room , Decompress , and User Authentication to show how they would function in the app. Evaluate Risks & Ethics – Provide an impact assessment on data privacy, inclusivity, and bias to ensure responsible AI adoption. Deliver Final Roadmap – Present a phased AI integration plan that Unlatched can use to guide future product development and investor discussions.

Mobile App UX / UI Design & Prototype
What is the main goal for this project? We are an early-stage dating app startup that would like support with designing the next stage of our mobile app (user feed, match experience, post-match flow, and messaging) that will launch in late 2025 as part of our MVP release. Our mission is to rebuild the dating experience by creating more intentional, authentic connections through a dual-profile concept ("Hype" and "Unhinged") that allows people to show both their polished and unfiltered sides. We are hoping to collaborate with a group of talented students who can complete the end-to-end design process with the ultimate goal of building a seamless, differentiated, and engaging user experience that sets Unlatched apart from existing dating apps and lays the foundation for rapid user growth. Project scope: Already completed: onboarding flow and dual-profile creation. Student focus: design begins after setup, specifically on feed, match experience, post-match reveal, and messaging.

We’re looking for UX support to develop the post-match experience for our dating app, Unlatched . We have recently completed the onboarding and profile creation process. Specifically, we want to design and prototype a "slow reveal" match mechanic which will be a unique interaction flow that unfolds gradually after two users match. Instead of instantly opening up full profiles and messaging (like on most apps), Unlatched aims to pace connection intentionally. This means: Progressive unlocking of profile information or prompts (e.g. questions, voice notes, habits, values) Gamified or conversational reveal formats. Integrated safeguards to promote safety, emotional depth, and engagement The goal is to create a UX flow that’s fun, meaningful, and emotionally compelling, encouraging users to connect more intentionally after a match.
