What is the main goal for this project?

The goal of this project is to design and develop a next-generation AI-based cybersecurity platform called TDR (Total Defense and Response). This platform will go beyond traditional EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) and XDR (Extended Detection and Response) tools by offering comprehensive, unified security for small to mid-scale businesses across all sectors.

The key objectives include:

  1. Designing an all-in-one cybersecurity platform powered by AI that addresses detection, prevention, response, and automation for managing cyber threats.
  2. Ensuring ease of deployment and simplicity for clients, inspired by minimalist designs (e.g., Tesla cars).
  3. Creating a scalable solution that meets the unique needs of small and medium businesses (SMBs) across diverse industries.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

  1. Research Phase
  • Analyze existing EDR/XDR tools and identify gaps in functionality and usability for SMBs.
  • Study AI-driven cybersecurity tools and evaluate the latest advancements in threat detection, automation, and response.
  1. Design Phase
  • Create a concept architecture for the TDR platform that integrates AI-powered threat detection, incident response, and reporting.
  • Design a user-friendly interface with minimalistic deployment requirements.
  1. Development Phase
  • Develop a proof of concept for the platform, including AI models for threat detection and automated response.
  • Build a prototype that demonstrates ease of deployment on client infrastructure.
  1. Testing Phase
  • Simulate real-world scenarios to validate the tool’s effectiveness in detecting and responding to threats.
  • Provide detailed documentation of testing results and recommendations for improvement.

Final Deliverables:

  • Deliverable 1: Research report on existing cybersecurity tools, identifying gaps and opportunities for the TDR platform.
  • Deliverable 2: Concept architecture and design for the TDR platform, including user interface wireframes.
  • Deliverable 3: Proof of concept/prototype demonstrating core functionalities of the platform, along with a technical documentation report.
  • Deliverable 4: Final project report, including testing results, recommendations, and a roadmap for further development.

Deliverables

To validate the completion of your work, submit deliverables as uploaded files in formats such as PDFs, presentations, or videos showcasing your prototype and findings. Include a reflection note at the end, summarizing your learning and contribution to the project.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

  1. Initial Walkthrough: Provide an overview of current cybersecurity challenges and a vision for the TDR platform.
  2. Technical Guidance: Share resources on AI-powered threat detection, automation, and current cybersecurity trends.
  3. Regular Check-ins: Schedule periodic meetings to answer questions, review progress, and provide feedback.
  4. Resource Material: Supply learners with relevant articles, tools, and datasets for AI modeling and platform development.

Students will have access to a point of contact for ongoing support and clarification throughout the project.
