About us:
WE ARE AN ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO CREATING INCLUSIVE, WELCOMING SPACES FOR MINORITIES, NEWCOMERS, AND UNDERREPRESENTED GROUPS THROUGH SPORTS, RECREATION, AND CULTURAL EVENTS. WHETHER YOU'RE NEW TO THE CITY OR LOOKING TO CONNECT WITH OTHERS WHO SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES, WE'RE HERE TO HELP YOU FEEL AT HOME.
OUR MISSION IS TO BREAK DOWN BARRIERS, FOSTER BELONGING, AND PROMOTE HEALTHY, ACTIVE LIFESTYLES BY ORGANIZING ACCESSIBLE EVENTS THAT BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER. FROM FRIENDLY SOCCER MATCHES AND BASKETBALL LEAGUES TO WELLNESS WORKSHOPS AND CULTURAL CELEBRATIONS, EVERYTHING WE DO IS ROOTED IN THE BELIEF THAT EVERYONE DESERVES A PLACE TO PLAY, GROW, AND THRIVE.
Our Experience with Volunteers:
We have successfully partnered with volunteers in the past in the following ways:
- Example — students volunteering with sports event set up
- Example — students helping with event success, like bonding with newcomers, and making everyone feel welcome
What are we looking for?
We are seeking volunteer support to help us meet the following needs:
- Task or role #1 — e.g., Event setup, logistics support, research
- Task or role #2 — e.g., Data entry or administrative help
- Task or role #3 — e.g., Social media, Marketing, outreach
Preferred Volunteer Skills (if any):
computer literacy, social media literacy, patience, positive and cheerful attitude
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
