Project examples

This project offers students an extraordinary opportunity to collaborate on the upcoming exhibition at our campus museum. Partnering with the renowned local artist Kirk Reedstrom, students will engage throughout the semester in curating and organizing his exhibition, scheduled for display late this spring.

Potential Project Tasks:

  • Artwork Curation: Students will work alongside the artist in the selection of pieces for the exhibition.
  • Exhibition Layout: They will engage in the strategic arrangement and design of the exhibit.
  • Text Writing: Crafting engaging and informative exhibition text.
  • Installation: Participating in the installation and setup of the exhibition.
  • Additional Tasks: Other responsibilities and tasks may be added throughout the project's development based on mutual interests between the students and the artist. These tasks will aim to further enhance the exhibition and provide valuable experiential learning opportunities.

This hands-on project aims to provide students with practical experience in curating a real art exhibition under the mentorship of a seasoned local artist, enabling them to delve into the museum's operations and exhibition processes.
